About this product

Shooters who come here for drop-in trigger parts for the TX22, M&P 2.0 and Glock care about how a trigger feels more than anything else. That makes CZ's DUTY 4.0 worth a look as a complete pistol, because the refined SFDA trigger is the headline: a 25 N pull, about 5.6 lbs, 9 mm of travel and a crisp 4 mm reset. Under it sits a serialized internal chassis inside a fiberglass-reinforced polymer grip frame, so the grip is modular rather than the serialized part.

Chambered in 9x19mm with a 4-inch non-threaded barrel, the pistol measures 188 mm long and 33 mm wide. The C compact gives you 15+1, or 17+1 with the extended base plate, at 770 g and 135 mm tall. The F full-size gives you 17+1, 19+1 extended, at 780 g and 143 mm tall. Sights are fixed; the slide takes a red dot by direct mount. MS models add a manual thumb safety to the firing pin block, trigger safety and trigger bar safety. MSRP $729.

Compact means 15+1 rounds in a frame 135 mm (5.3 in) high. Fit the extended base plate and it holds 17+1. At 770 g (27.2 oz) unloaded it sits between a pocket pistol and a service-size gun, which is exactly where a carry-and-nightstand 9mm belongs.

This is the version with a manual thumb safety. The three passive safeties (firing pin block, trigger safety, trigger bar safety) are the same as on every DUTY; the lever is an extra for people who were trained on one or simply want one.

Where the P-10 had a serialized polymer frame, the DUTY 4.0 moves the serial number to an internal modular chassis. That is the headline. The rest follows the modern service-pistol formula done carefully: a striker SFDA trigger at 25 ± 4 N (5.6 ± 0.9 lbs) (4 mm (0.16 in) reset, 9 ± 1 mm (0.4 ± 0.04 in) travel), a 188 mm (7.4 in) long slide with direct-mount optics cuts, fixed sights and a four-inch barrel without a thread.

Best fit: concealed carry where your state allows it, home defense, and range time that does not need a service-size grip. Shooters coming from a CZ 75 will recognize the grip angle; owners coming from any other striker gun will notice the trigger first.

Trigger parts leave here in a plain box to your address, but the DUTY 4.0 is a serialized pistol and ships only to the FFL dealer you choose at checkout. That dealer completes the required paperwork and applies the rules of your state when you collect it. Pick a dealer you trust before placing the order and the handoff is simple.

Frequently asked questions

How does the DUTY 4.0 trigger measure from the factory?
CZ specifies a pull of 25 plus or minus 4 N, about 5.6 lbs, with 9 mm of travel and a 4 mm reset. It is a refined SFDA striker-fired design.
Can I get the compact or full-size with a thumb safety?
Yes. Both the C and the F are offered as MS models with a manual thumb safety added to the three internal safeties.
What does MS mean on the CZ DUTY 4.0 C MS?
Manual safety. It adds a thumb lever to the firing pin block, trigger safety and trigger bar safety that every DUTY has.
Does the manual safety change the trigger?
No. CZ rates the trigger the same on both versions: 5.6 pounds with a 4 mm reset.
