About this product

Shooters who come here for drop-in trigger parts for the TX22, M&P 2.0 and Glock care about how a trigger feels more than anything else. That makes CZ's DUTY 4.0 worth a look as a complete pistol, because the refined SFDA trigger is the headline: a 25 N pull, about 5.6 lbs, 9 mm of travel and a crisp 4 mm reset. Under it sits a serialized internal chassis inside a fiberglass-reinforced polymer grip frame, so the grip is modular rather than the serialized part.

Chambered in 9x19mm with a 4-inch non-threaded barrel, the pistol measures 188 mm long and 33 mm wide. The C compact gives you 15+1, or 17+1 with the extended base plate, at 770 g and 135 mm tall. The F full-size gives you 17+1, 19+1 extended, at 780 g and 143 mm tall. Sights are fixed; the slide takes a red dot by direct mount. MS models add a manual thumb safety to the firing pin block, trigger safety and trigger bar safety. MSRP $729.

The C is the carry-size frame. It stands 135 mm (5.3 in) tall, weighs 770 g (27.2 oz) with the magazine in but empty and carries 15+1 rounds of 9mm, or 17+1 once the extended base plate is fitted. Short enough to hide under a shirt, long enough to get every finger on the grip.

The chassis is serialized and modular, which is CZ's way of making the polymer grip swappable. The frame itself is fiberglass-reinforced polymer, 33 mm (1.3 in) wide, on a four-inch barrel and a 188 mm (7.4 in) overall length. The SFDA trigger breaks at 25 ± 4 N (5.6 ± 0.9 lbs) and resets in 4 mm (0.16 in). Optics mount directly to the slide; the photos from CZ show Holosun, Aimpoint and Shield footprints.

No external safety here. The firing pin block, trigger safety and trigger bar safety handle drop safety, and the holster handles the rest. CZ sells the same gun with a frame-mounted lever as the MS model.

Who is it for: daily carry, a nightstand gun that also rides along, and new owners who want one pistol for everything. If you already shoot a P-10, the DUTY is the next step in the same family, with a new chassis and the optics done right.

Trigger parts leave here in a plain box to your address, but the DUTY 4.0 is a serialized pistol and ships only to the FFL dealer you choose at checkout. That dealer completes the required paperwork and applies the rules of your state when you collect it. Pick a dealer you trust before placing the order and the handoff is simple.

Frequently asked questions

How does the DUTY 4.0 trigger measure from the factory?
CZ specifies a pull of 25 plus or minus 4 N, about 5.6 lbs, with 9 mm of travel and a 4 mm reset. It is a refined SFDA striker-fired design.
Can I get the compact or full-size with a thumb safety?
Yes. Both the C and the F are offered as MS models with a manual thumb safety added to the three internal safeties.
Does the CZ DUTY 4.0 C take CZ P-10 magazines?
CZ lists the DUTY with its own 15-round magazine and an extended base plate for 17+1. P-10 magazine fit is not confirmed, so plan on DUTY magazines.
Is the compact easy to shoot?
It shares the 4-inch barrel and slide with the full-size gun, so the sight radius is the same. Only the grip is shorter.
